The Ebbtide Team

The owner of Ebb Tide, Joan Greenwald, purchased her first Newfoundland in 1977 and was hooked from the start. She started showing and breeding Landseer Newfoundlands in 1980 and has earned over 60 titles in obedience, water rescue, and agility. In 1999 her dog Dyna became the first Newfoundland to earn the AX (agility excellent) and AXJ (Agility Excellent Jumpers with Weaves) titles. To date, Dyna is the only Newfoundland to earn either of these titles

In 2000, Joan became an AKC Agility judge and in 2001 CKC Agility judge. This has given her an entirely new insight on the sport of agility and a chance to give something back to the sport.

Joan has been teaching dog obedience classes for over 20 years and agility classes for 5 years. Her students have won numerous titles in both areas. She is a 1985 graduate of the Rochester Institute of Dog grooming and has been grooming all breeds ever since.

Bruce Burns started in our basic obedience class, then got hooked on agility. He has been teaching for several years, and in 2001 he and his Gordon setter Cady, earned their AX and AXJ titles something only five other Gordon Setters have accomplished. Bruce teaches all levels of agility classes.
